How can we be sure about quality and safety?

Services in the Keeping House Directory are provided by independent organisations, including some social enterprises, that are independent of the local authority. As such, Keeping House cannot provide an absolute guarantee about quality.

However we are working closely with older people, disabled people and voluntary organisations to set and monitor standards, and to share information on who is providing good quality services. Our Directory incorporates a quality standard. You can access the Directory here.

Quality was the main issue which came out of our consultation with the voluntary sector in Autumn 2005. As a result, our 2006 conference looked at quality - particularly on how to build high quality social enterprises.
